The Pilot Is Ordered, The Champagne Is On Ice, And Quantum Leap Reboot Is A Go At NBC Diana Marsh, January 14, 2022 You heard it here not first, but not least either (Grammarly said I should use least here) just somewhere in the middle. Photo courtesy of syfy. com “Sam: “Who are you?” Al: “My name is Albert… Albert what, I can’t tell you because it’s restricted. Most of what you’ll want to know is restricted so it would be a lot easier if you don’t ask a lot of questions .” Sam: “What are you?” Al: “That’s a question, Sam.” NBC has finally announced that the Quantum Leap reboot we’ve been hoping for (yet mildly concerned if it was actually greenlit) is a go. The new series will have an entirely new cast (Scott Bakula has hinted about possibly being involved with the reboot but has yet to confirm if he will actually star in the series). Fans have raised concerns that pushing forward with the reboot without confirming Bakula’s involvement or how the series would get around the absence of Dean Stockwell’s character Admiral Al Calavicci but it looks like they have it covered within the confines of the new storyline. Per Deadline: “Written and executive produced by La Brea co-showrunners Steven Lilien and Bryan Wynbrandt and executive produced by Blindspot creator Martin Gero as well as Quantum Leap creator/EP Don Bellisario and EP/co-narrator Deborah Pratt, the follow-up series is set in present time. It’s been 30 years since Dr. Sam Beckett (Bakula) stepped into the Quantum Leap accelerator and vanished. Now a new team has been assembled to restart the project in the hopes of understanding the mysteries behind the machine and the man who created it.” I think we’ll be just fine.
