The Nun Is An Amazingly Terrifying Addition To The Conjuring Universe Diana Marsh, August 27, 2018 Opening 9/7/2018, The Nun is the latest addition to the Conjuring universe that explores the very roots of its creation. It takes you back before The Conjuring and Annabelle to a level of terror not yet scene in the franchise, at least that is their hope, and from the trailers available online, they may well have achieved it. Because everything terrifying and evil, and foggy, happens in Romania. Picture courtesy of Warner Bros. Pictures And so the story goes: “When a young nun at a cloistered abbey in Romania takes her own life, a priest with a haunted past and a novitiate on the threshold of her final vows are sent by the Vatican to investigate. Together they uncover the order’s unholy secret. Risking not only their lives but their faith and their very souls, they confront a malevolent force in the form of the same demonic nun that first terrorized audiences in “The Conjuring 2,” as the abbey becomes a horrific battleground between the living and the damned.” Now is not the time to stand still, now is the time for running. Photo courtesy of Warner Bros. Pictures The lineup is also very impressive: “The Nun stars Oscar nominated Demian Bichir (“A Better Life”) as Father Burke, Taissa Farmiga (TV’s “American Horror Story”) as Sister Irene, and Jonas Bloquet (“Elle”) as local villager Frenchie. The cast also includes Charlotte Hope (TV’s “Game of Thrones”) as the abbey’s Sister Victoria, Ingrid Bisu (“Toni Erdmann”) as Sister Oana, and Bonnie Aarons, reprising her “Conjuring 2” role as the title character. The new fright-fest, directed by Corin Hardy (“The Hallow”) and produced by James Wan, and Peter Safran, the latter of whom has produced all the films in “The Conjuring” franchise, delves into the shocking origin of the demonic Nun Valak, who first made her evil presence known in “The Conjuring 2.” You look fantastic for an ancient demonic nun, don’t let social media haters bring you down. New Line Cinema presents an Atomic Monster / Safran Company production, “The Nun.” Opening in theaters on September 7, 2018, the film will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. http://www.thenunmovie.com/ Official Trailer can be seen here Extended trailer can be seen here Share this:FacebookTwitterTumblrPinterestRedditLinkedInEmail Related Links Movies News Annabelledemonic possessiondemonsHalloweenHorror MoviesnunsThe ConjuringThe Nun
