Darin Wall, the bassist for Seattle-based band “Greyhawk,” saw a man in the crowd at Boise music venue “The Shredder” exhibiting some suspicious behavior in the early morning hours Sunday. Darin saw the man make a finger gun and point at the audience. Wall saw the man go to his car outside and knew he had a gun, so the musician stepped in.
The 41 year-old stopped what would’ve been an attack, but got shot in the leg as he wrestled the gunman to the ground. Word of Darin’s heroics spread quickly and now a GoFundMe the band started to help pay his medical bills is spreading too. It’s already raised nearly $9,000 in just a day.
According to the band’s Facebook page and the GoFundMe, any donations exceeding the cost of Darin’s medical treatment and needs will be donated to the Gun Violence Survivors Foundation.
