Season 2 Of NBC’s La Brea Premieres September 27th And It’s Everything The First Season Was And More Diana Marsh, September 28, 2022 LA BREA — “The Next Day” Episode 201 — Pictured in this screengrab: Rohan Mirchandaney as Scott — (Photo by: NBC) The more things change the more they stay the same and while everyone is still alive and kicking (well almost everyone) others have a lot of explaining to do, more specifically Silas, who has been the cause of a lot of heartbreak and anger, especially concerning Riley and Josh, and Dr. Sam is about to do something drastic to Silas if he doesn’t start talking. While you can’t blame him for his by whatever means necessary approach, Sam hasn’t been acting like himself as of late and if pushed, could do something everyone will regret. While Silas is being interrogated by his severe companions Sam and Levi, Scott and Rebecca are off looking for a glass and steel building she helped build, in this timeline, with people who now want her and anyone she currently is associated with dead so yep Scott I’d be meditating too. While those two are playing avoid bad people or die trying, Gavin, Izzy, and Ella are trying to survive in what they think is prehistoric Seattle and look for another sinkhole or wormhole to take them to the next timeline. What’s stalking them here though isn’t of wolf or saber-toothed cat in nature but a Woolly Rhino who’s feeling a bit territorial and doesn’t like the sound or smell of these weird creatures. He also doesn’t like his woolly neighbors or their kid but when these neighbors fight it makes history. As if things weren’t crazy enough, Riley and Josh jumped through a sinkhole and are now in the ’80s looking for the original La Brea sinkhole so they can get back to their family but it hasn’t opened yet. However, one in the Hollywood Hills did open back in the ’80s now the kids just need to get to it before something additionally weird happens like getting stopped by the authorities without having any identification on them dressed in clothes from a house they broke into for food and carrying around money they stole from the home owner’s kids’ piggy bank. Disclaimer- This is not a spoiler. Silas finally starts talking and maybe it’s out of compassion, maybe out of spite, or maybe because Sam finally snapped but he does tell the group that to find the kids they need to look for the building that Rebecca and Scott are heading to and warns them there are horrors there they’ve never seen. Okie dokie. So upon taking the advice of an egotistical prick, Eve and Levi set off to find the building only to first find Lucas on the side of the road next to a makeshift grave and then Rebecca who has been captured by a group of men from some medieval time period who are running around collecting people they happen to find. NBC did not skimp on the drama or the sci-fi and the premiere episode of season 2 is a fantastic bridge between both seasons. New episodes will be available on NBC Tuesdays 9/8 et and the following day on Peacock.
