Russell Peters Latest Standup Deported Filmed Live In Mumbai, India Premieres January 17, 2020 Diana Marsh, January 13, 2020January 13, 2020 Peters holds nothing back in his latest special Deported. Photo courtesy of Amazon.com His tour may have wrapped up last year, but the hype is far from over. Russell Peter’s latest special, Deported, was filmed live at Mumbai’s NSCI Stadium over the course of two sold-out shows with the audience’s reaction swinging from full-on laughter to cringe induced hysterics. After 300 shows in 30 different countries in 18 months, the Emmy, Peabody, and Gemini winning comedian still had the energy to bring the house down with bits about his latest medical procedures, inappropriate anus touching, comparing Indian music to horny cats, how to fake an orgasm (yes there is a trend) and poking fun at audience members who happily went along for the ride. The special is well shot with Peters keeping the energy high from beginning to end, he connects well with his audience through humorous personal stories, and throws some educational moments on Northern vs Southern India’s cultures in for extra measure. While this may not be my personal slice of comedic heaven, I can definitely say if you’re a long time fan of Russell this special will not disappoint. If you’re a new fan, you’ve been warned. Either way, watch it and decide for yourself and have a few laughs along the way.
