Review- Episode 7 Of Star Trek: Prodigy Is A Visually Exquisite Story Rich In Science And Character

Diana Marsh, January 13, 2022
STAR TREK: PRODIGY: Ep#107 — Brett Gray as Dal, Kate Mulgrew as Janeway, Jason Mantzoukas as Jankom Pog, Rylee Alazraqui as Rok-Tahk, Ella Purnell as Gwyn and Angus Imrie as Zero in STAR TREK: PRODIGY streaming on Paramount+ Photo: Nickelodeon/Paramount+ ©2022VIACOM INTERNATIONAL. While killing time waiting for Janeway to piece together the information on the disappearance of Capitan Chakotay and his crew on the Protostar, Dal finds himself reunited with an old friend named Nandi, a Ferengi looking to make a quick buck on a new planet she stumbled on, swearing she has the best of intentions. Dal is hesitant, but when the crew arrives on the new planet for their first contact, they are greeted by an incredible security system of sorts that is based on frequencies and sound waves rather than utilizing a force of aliens or machines.  Eventually they meet the sole life forms of the planet who are friendly, generous, and astonishingly enough are made of visible frequencies but just when things are going smoothly Nandi runs off with something of great importance  to the aliens, which one could say really pisses the life forms off.
While Nandi is eventually apprehended and the item returned, Dal learns several painful lessons about trust, importance of the Prime Directive, and how brilliantly Janeway can make you feel like crap but also that you’ve learned a valuable lesson in whatever mess you’ve created. Some things never change.

The visuals are just stunning in this episode with some hardcore science going on that would make any adult take notes and Google stuff afterward. Ok, maybe some adults but still the potential is there. Stream Star Trek: Prodigy here on Paramount +!
