One Of Us Is Lying Finishes Freshmen Season With A Bang

As episodes seven and eight drop we see just how far things have spun out of control. Not that anything or anyone was ever actually in control of their situation (blame it on the frontal cortex) but now the Murder Club has a member in jail and the only person willing to risk it all (it’s Bronwyn) to save Nate from prison has been very, very wrong in her assertions about who really killed Simon as of late with truly innocent people paying a very steep price for it so now no one knows what to do but to move on and worry about regular life stuff. Addy and Jake are back together, Cooper has a boyfriend, Bronwyn is working on getting into that Ivy League college life, but she can’t shake the guilt of Nate being behind bars so she starts asking questions again, looking around for more clues and attempting to put the right pieces of crime into place but this time, she nails it.

Thanks to some new evidence that comes to light linking together Simon, the streakers from episode 1, and oddly enough, Jake, the Murder Club sneaks into an exclusive Halloween party at a house where Simon used to hang out, for one last shot at freeing Nate and confirming who the killer is. While one mystery gets solved, another one, more sinister and potentially more devastating rears its ugly head just as things start to go back to something that resembles normalcy for Bayview High. Hopefully, there’s a season 2 where all this dramatic tension can get resolved. If not, season one did a great job of ending on a reasonable cliffhanger.
