New Series The Real Murders Of Orange County Premiers Sunday November 8th at 7:00 PM ET/PT On Oxygen Diana Marsh, October 14, 2020 Grab your snacks, beverage of choice, and the family pet this is going to be good. Oxygen has graced us with numerous crime shows over the years, teaching us that crime doesn’t pay (or sometimes it does), the spouse is always to blame (all I’m saying is years of listening to someone snore +a huge life insurance policy on the sinus serenader is a bad combination so….), and that plastic surgeons are always shady (well maybe not all of them.) The Real Murders Of Orange County is no exception but oh boy do they kick things off with a sad, sophisticated premier whose format could help set this series apart from Oxygen’s crime series catalog. The series opens with the murder of Jane Carver, a much loved and respected member of Fountain Valley, who was casually shot in cold blood mere yards from her house by an unknown assailant while she was out for a run. It was an earth-shattering event for the affluent community who took pride in the safety and financial security of their neighborhood. While friends and family members pulled together to post flyers all over town offering a sizable cash reward for any information that led to the arrest and prosecution of Jane’s killer, Jane’s husband and two sons were forced to endure hours of deeply personal questioning by the local PD to not only clear the family from any wrongdoing but to try and find some kind of motive, something suspicious, something that could give investigators a hint as to the whos and whys of the murders. To this day Fountain Valley residents still mourn the death of Jane Carver. Following at 8 pm, is the senseless shooting of the Sachs family that rocked the community, when the family is gunned down in their seaside vacation home, leaving both parents dead and the brother paralyzed. What police discover is that not everyone was successfully living up to the perfect family image and it ended in a devastating murder. Bottom line, it’s pretty much the same murder mystery format we’ve come to expect, but The Real Murders Of Orange County tend to focus more on facts rather than over emotional drama and re-enactment of the crime but we’ll have to wait and see how the show progresses.
