Narcotic Wasteland: Sex Lies & DNA Review of Las Vegas Show

Narcotic Wasteland: Sex Lies & DNA Review of Las Vegas Show

After what has been a ruff week in my IT job I had the chance to head downtown here in Las Vegas and see a show at The Griffin (https://www.facebook.com/TheLasVegasGriffin)
I have never been to a show at The Griffin, and was a bit surprised by the venue. Saying that the venue is an “intimate experience” is the understatement of the century. I have been to some small venues, but this was the smallest i have been to by far. The bands were playing in a 25 x 25 square room and their gear took up half that space.

The Griffin – Las Vegas, night of the show

TEGMENTUM (https://tegmentum.bandcamp.com/) was the first band of the evening. Being from San Francisco, CA has tempered their music a bit. They are on tour for their new album Evolvement, releasing August 25th, 2023. While they are leaning heavily on the female gravely vocals, the background music does it job, backing her up. TEGMENTUM has recently released a new song onto Bandcamp.com:

GORGATRON (http://gorgatronband.com/) out of Fargo, ND took the stage next. I did not get to see them one of the last times they were in Las Vegas (Las Vegas Death Fest 8 – 06/2016), these guys are killing their craft. Karl Schmidt (vocalist) had almost too much energy for the size of the venue. Paul Johnson (guitar) was a pleasure to watch and listen to. The big man was in his corner, taking names and killing it.

NARCOTIC WASTELAND (https://www.narcoticwasteland.com/) took the stage and played some songs from both their Delirium Tremens and self titled debut album. You could feel the music filling and bouncing around the room. Not just because the venue was so tiny, you could really feel the vibe fill the room. All the people in the room were observably affected and everyone was into it.
NARCOTIC WASTELAND played their newly released single “Sex Lies and DNA” which the tour is promoting.

Over all this was a good show in a tiny venue. The bands made due and kicked it out of the park.
