It’s Here! Dark Horse Comics Releases The Orville Artifacts Part 2

In this follow-up, the crew has found themselves trapped within the confines of an energy field that was created to protect the fleet of ancient Zankon alien ships housed within it while keeping intruders out. Unable to communicate with anyone outside of the field, the crew is at the mercy of Ed’s old professor, the guy whose rash actions got several people killed in Part 1, and his sweet assistant, Chalmi, both of whom know far more about this ancient tech than anyone else on the Orville. An away team is sent out to try and board one of the alien ships, and when they get close, things get really weird. Unfortunately, the only person who can make things less weird is a total asshole who insists on keeping things weird so everyone doesn’t figure out that Chalmi is his slave, not his assistant, and without her, there is no way to learn how to control the highly advanced, highly sophisticated alien tech they’ve been made privy to. Chalmi becomes her own hero, freeing the Orville up to deal with freeing itself from the field and keeping the professor under lock and key until he can be prosecuted for his crimes.

Artifacts Part 2 is a solid sequel whose artwork, layout, and storyline flow coherently through not only these two comics but through the entire series as well. The Orville comic series can be purchased through Dark Horse Comics or wherever comics are sold.
