Horror Movie IMAGINARY Hollywood Premiere And Popup Footage

Terry Bunch, March 3, 2024

From Blumhouse, the genre-defining masterminds behind FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY’S and M3GAN, comes an original horror that taps into the innocence of imaginary friends – and begs the question: Are they really figments of childhood imagination or is something more terrifying lying just beneath? In theaters March 8, 2024.

When Jessica (DeWanda Wise) moves back into her childhood home with her family, her youngest stepdaughter Alice (Pyper Braun) develops an eerie attachment to a stuffed bear named Chauncey she finds in the basement. Alice starts playing games with Chauncey that begin playful and become increasingly sinister. As Alice’s behavior becomes more and more concerning, Jessica intervenes only to realize Chauncey is much more than the stuffed toy bear she believed him to be.

The cast and filmmakers of IMAGINARY celebrated the release of the film at the Los Angeles premiere this evening at The Grove AMC, walking an immersive, blue-doored, checkered carpet inspired by the iconic world of the “Never Ever” seen in the film. Cast in attendance included DeWanda Wise, Tom Payne, Taegen Burns, Pyper Braun, Matthew Sato, Veronica Falcón, Betty Buckley, Samuel Salary, and Alix Angelis. They were joined by writer/director/producer Jeff Wadlow, producer Jason Blum, writers Greg Erb and Jason Oremland, executive producer Ryan Turek, and puppeteer Dane DiLiegro. Chauncey Bear also made his red-carpet debut!

After the screening, cast and filmmakers joined guests for a reception at “Blumhouse Presents: Chauncey’s Imaginary Playhouse”, the immersive and interactive pop-up experience on Melrose Avenue.
