The Horde is the debut single release of Finland’s newest melodic death metal armada, Champions of Sorrow. Combining elements of old-school death metal, death core, and extreme metal, the band seeks to creates a diverse soundscape within the metal scene.
The band has been founded by the mysterious Mr. Aventador, who is a member of multiple Finnish underground metal groups.
Describing the debut song, “The Horde,” Mr. Aventador, the song’s author, explained, “It’s an ugly love child of the Chris Barnes era Cannibal Corpse and Fleshgod Apocalypse. I aimed to create the most brutal yet melodic song to kickstart the band’s musical career.”

Supporting the bands front man and bringing the vision alive are individuals like Saku Moilanen of Deep Noise Studios, who has previously collaborated with bands such as Wolfheart and BloodredHourglass, and is in charge of the band’s orchestral arrangements. Guitar mastery has been executed by Juuso Turkki of One Morning Left.
In the future, the band plans to release one more song in spring 2024, followed by an EP in the fall of 2024. Merchandise and video content will accompany these releases.
