Dark Horse Comics Releases Talla Centered Orville Comic In Heroes Part 1 Diana Marsh, November 9, 2020November 9, 2020 Meet The Nazh. Bat-eared bulldog-like aliens with a propensity to angrily overcompensate for their stature. Photo courtesy of The Orville- Wiki Fandom In Heroes we get to see a glimpse into Talla’s past (the punching of her former superior was not included) and how deeply another culture can impact our lives and sometimes, our future self. The comic starts out five years in the past with Talla visiting a world where the native people (the Okudum, a peaceful people with no advanced technology) look like Xelayans but bear no cultural similarities or their incredible physical strength. The planet does have an extremely valuable mineral deposit called Dysonium that perks the Union’s ears but after a thorough report from Talla they decide against pursuing a mining operation out of fear of disrupting the Okudum’s way of life. Flash forward five years and things have changed drastically for the Okudum. When The Orville is sent to check on the planet, they find it has been taken over by the Nazh, a greedy race of aliens looking to mine the planet for its vast deposit of Dysonium and then bail (hopefully) by using the natives as slave labor and killing any of them who step out of line. Talla, upset with the red tape of protocol preventing The Orville from rescuing the native people from their captors, decides to take matters into her own hands (and two of the crew) and become the hero the people hoped for, but at what cost? This brilliant montage is courtesy of Dark Horse Comics Another great Orville comics for the books! The artwork is just phenomenal, the storyline is interesting and does a great job working the throwback into the present, and the lead-in to part 2 is fluid. The Orville comics genuinely just keep getting better with each release and can be purchased through Dark Horse comics right here or through almost any online store that sell comics.
