Cleverman season one finale airs July 6 Terry Bunch, July 5, 2016July 13, 2016 SundanceTV will air the season one finale of its original epic genre drama “Cleverman” on Wednesday, July 6th at 10/9c. Set in the very near future, the series follows a group of extraordinary beings who battle for survival in a world where humans feel increasingly threatened by them. These creatures from ancient mythology, known as “Hairypeople,” have recently made themselves known and have extraordinary strength, speed and longevity, but are cast as social misfits and seek refuge in The Zone: a fragile community that finds strength in the brotherhood between Hairy and human. Central to the story is a pair of estranged Indigenous brothers, one of whom assumes the power of the “Cleverman,” who acts as the conduit between the worlds of the Dreaming and the present. The brothers, Koen and Waruu West, are forced together to fight for their own survival. In the final episode of the season, “Terra Nullius,” the Containment Authority prepares to clear the city of Hairypeople and Koen must finally face his destiny as the Cleverman. The six-episode series stars Golden Globe® nominee Frances O’Connor (“The Missing”), Iain Glen (“Game of Thrones”), Hunter Page-Lochard (“The Sapphires”) and Rob Collins (“The Lion King”). “Cleverman” is based on an original concept by Ryan Griffen. Wayne Blair (The Sapphires, Septembers of Shiraz) is lead director, with acclaimed director, writer, actress and performer Leah Purcell also directing. The series is produced by Goalpost Pictures Australia and New Zealand’s Pukeko Pictures for ABC TV Australia in co-production with SundanceTV and Red Arrow International, with the assistance of Screen Australia, Screen NSW and the New Zealand Screen Production Grant. Red Arrow International distributes “Cleverman” worldwide. http://www.sundance.tv/series/cleverman Share this:FacebookTwitterTumblrPinterestRedditLinkedInEmail Related News TV Shows ClevermanNewsTV Show
