Chucky Season Two Continues To Do The Franchise And The Horror Genre Proud Diana Marsh, November 13, 2022 CHUCKY — “Hail, Mary!” Episode 203 — Pictured in this screengrab: Chucky — (Photo by: SYFY) “If you’re going to look into my eyes, at least pull my hair.”- Chucky What a shot. Jake should really take a stab at photography. Season two of Chucky really dives deep into Lexy, Jake, and Devon’s relationships within themselves, with each other, and with the world around them. After season one (but during therapy) Lexy develops an addiction to Adderal, Jake moves out of town with a foster family while Devon stays in Hackensack with his own foster family. The threesome never speaks to each other, Jake and Devon’s long-distance relationship becomes rocky when Jake starts avoiding Devon and giving all of his free time to his new little brother who idolizes him which helps Jake not think about Chucky. That is until an unknown number starts calling and harassing Lexy, Jake, and Devon, and before you know it everyone is once again covered in blood, lies, and infamy. CHUCKY — “Hail, Mary!” Episode 203 — Pictured in this screengrab: Chucky — (Photo by: SYFY) The teens are soon sent off to a boarding school called the School Of The Incarnate Lord which unfortunately was also, at one time, Charles Lee Ray’s home but now with more creepy iconography and a dress code. The school’s headmaster, Father Bryce, is very concerned with having such violent offenders at the school so he takes a special interest in the three murder suspects especially when a Good Guy doll is delivered to the school by a mysterious stranger presumably for the church yard sale coming up. It doesn’t take long for Chucky to make himself at home and before you know it you have a dead nun, a dead priest, a relationship in turmoil, and Lexy nose-deep in meds. Eventually, this new Chucky is subdued by Jake who gets the wild idea to torture him with so much violent imagery that it makes the doll ill to see it much less commit violent acts and it works for a hot second then fails miserably ending up in another death and more mistrust and anger between Lexy, Devon, and Jake. Nice to see some consistency between the plot twists. CHUCKY — “Hail, Mary!” Episode 203 — Pictured in this screengrab: Chucky — (Photo by: SYFY) We also have several new Chuckys that come and go throughout the episode, leftovers from the truck that Andy crashed that killed himself and the rest of the dolls, and no of course that last part didn’t happen. In fact, Andy survives only to be captured and tortured in an abandoned cabin by the self-proclaimed Colonel of all the remaining Chuckys who then murders any of them that he believes to be weak which is how we got Swole Chucky (who never misses arm day) and the second coming of Jesus Christ. Fun! CHUCKY — “Doll on Doll” Episode 205 — Pictured in this screengrab: Chucky Forest — (Photo by: SYFY) Lexy and Devon decide to break out of the school to try and find where the trail of bloody doll parts they keep seeing leads and it causes the school to go into full lockdown mode until they return. While all of this is going on, back in Beverly Hills CA Tiffany and Charles’s kids, Glen and Glenda have arrived at the house for a birthday party in their honor. Lots of murders ensue because Tiff AKA Jennifer can’t help herself but on the bright side of things the twins help Nica escape with the help of a partially deformed but very much alive Kyle. Glen stays to try and help their Mom get treatment for her murder addiction. CHUCKY — “He Is Risen Indeed” Episode 206 — Pictured in this screengrab: (l-r) Lara Jean Chorostecki as Sister Ruth, Chucky — (Photo by: SYFY) The tiny squeak his feet make when she washes them is to die for. So are all the pop culture nods. When Swole Chucky is killed at the church and somehow comes back to life Sister Ruth is convinced he’s Jesus and starts treating him as such. Father Bryce finally sees the murderous dolls in action and with the help of Glenda, Andy (who is rescued by Lexy and Devon on their unauthorized field trip and brought to the church for food and a shower and to kill all Chuckys), Nica, Jake, Devon, Lexy, Dr. Mixter the counselor who recommended the teens attend the diocese and who has a thing for dolls, and Sister Catherine, Father Bryce performs an exorcism on the only surviving Chucky doll (Swole and Colonel die gloriously) in the church and that’s where things get even bloodier and squishier. Still, somehow the spirit of Chucky escapes the exorcism in the most logical vessel which makes the finale all the more important to see.
