Award Winning Short Film The Lake Is A Beautifully Tragic Look At Life, Love, And Family Diana Marsh, December 11, 2016December 11, 2016 You never know where life will take you. The Lake is an outstanding short film by Michael Buie (The Next Three Days, Mystery Alaska, Blackbird) about a father who, after receiving a terminal diagnosis, makes the difficult decision to take control of his death rather than allow his wife (played by Rachel Wilson) and daughters see him waste away. The film will make you laugh, cry, and see a new side of life through the eyes of someone staring down their own demise. Beautifully shot, well directed, with a brilliantly moving yet subtle music score and innovating story line, The Lake breathes new life into the indie scene by showing just how beautiful non-traditional can be. The awards alone speak volumes for this film: Indie Fest USA International Film Festival (2015) Lakeshorts International Short Film Festival, CA (2016) Sonoma International Film Festival (2016) and Toronto Independent Film Festival, CA (2015.)
