Battle begins as ArcLight Cinemas, Legendary and Universal Pictures announce the launch of a traveling in-theater installation featuring a larger-than-life statue of Horde warrior Orgrim, one of the stars of this summer’s epic cinematic adventure WARCRAFT. Starting today, movie-goers throughout Southern California will have an opportunity to come face-to-face with the incredibly lifelike orc and his iconic weapon the Doomhammer, both crafted by WETA Workshop, known for their groundbreaking work on iconic films like The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings trilogies, as well as Mad Max: Fury Road.

The mighty Orgrim statue is over 10 feet tall and weighs in at 550 lbs. The character comes to our world from this summer’s highly anticipated movie based on one of the biggest fantasy franchises in entertainment history: Blizzard Entertainment’s Warcraft game series. Visitors to participating ArcLight Cinemas are sure to be captivated by the grand scale and intricate detail of this mythic WARCRAFT character.

“We are thrilled to be able to bring a character that lives in the imaginations of so many to physical life,” said Emily Castel, Legendary CMO. “I cannot wait to see people’s reactions as they encounter this imposing character in their local theaters and become immersed in the magical world of the film.”

“Having a life-size Orgrim exhibit for our guests is an exciting part of the full ArcLight experience that we are proud to provide to our fellow movie-lovers,” said Gretchen McCourt, Executive Vice President, Cinema Programming, ArcLight Cinemas.

The Orgrim WARCRAFT installation will be available for guests to experience at the following ArcLight Cinemas locations this Spring:

March 17th  – ArcLight Beach Cities

March 31st – ArcLight Santa Monica

April 14th  – ArcLight Culver City

April 28th  – ArcLight Pasadena

May 13th  – ArcLight Sherman Oaks

About the Film

From Legendary Pictures and Universal Pictures comes WARCRAFT, an epic adventure of world-colliding conflict based on Blizzard Entertainment’s global phenomenon.

The peaceful realm of Azeroth stands on the brink of war as its civilization faces a fearsome race of invaders: Orc warriors fleeing their dying home to colonize another. As a portal opens to connect the two worlds, one army faces destruction and the other faces extinction. From opposing sides, two heroes are set on a collision course that will decide the fate of their family, their people and their home.

So begins a spectacular saga of power and sacrifice in which war has many faces, and everyone fights for something.

Directed by Duncan Jones (Moon, Source Code) and written by Charles Leavitt and Jones, the film starring Travis Fimmel, Paula Patton, Ben Foster, Dominic Cooper, Toby Kebbell, Ben Schnetzer, Rob Kazinsky and Daniel Wu is a Legendary Pictures, Blizzard Entertainment and Atlas Entertainment production.

The producers are Charles Roven, Thomas Tull, Jon Jashni, Alex Gartner and Stuart Fenegan. Jillian Share, Brent O’Connor, Michael Morhaime and Paul Sams serve as executive producers. Rob Pardo, Chris Metzen, Nick Carpenter and Rebecca Steel Roven co-produce. WARCRAFT will be released by Universal Pictures.  www.warcraftmovie.com
