SKELETONWITCH Working On New Album, About To Tour Europe

SKELETONWITCH has proven time and time again that mixing killer tunes with an unshakeable work ethic remains the key to metal success. Arguably the genre’s hardest-touring band, the group will soon support their critically acclaimed 2013 release Serpents Unleashed — which has already seen the quintet conquer stages worldwide alongside some of metal’s most reputable acts, including Amon Amarth, Enslaved, Suffocation and Ghost B.C. — with their most extensive European tour to date.

The Midwestern blackened metal troopers will return to The Old Continent in April to appear at several of the spring’s heaviest festivals (Inferno, Roadburn) in addition to headlining 26 shows across Western Europe with support from Goatwhore and Mortals. From there, the group will pillage their way across Eastern Europe and headline dates in Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovakia and Greece. A full list of dates appears below; tickets are available now at www.skeletonwitch.com.

SKELETONWITCH have also begun writing material for a new album, expected to be released later this year. Guitarist Scott Hedrick commented, “After we return from melting faces in Europe, our entire focus will be on writing a new album. We have a mountain of riffs and ideas that will be carved into epic tunes.  Excited to get started!”

Lauded as “the strongest (release) of their career” for its “punchy, potent slices of blackened thrash, death metal and plain ol’ heavy metal” by Decibel Magazine, which included the album in their Top 40 list of 2013, “Serpents Unleashed” was recorded at GodCity Studio with Kurt Ballou (Converge, Trap Them) and features stunning artwork by John Baizley (Baroness, Kylesa). The album — the group’s best-selling and highest-charting release to date — is currently available on CD and 180-gram black vinyl via the Prosthetic webshop (http://store.prostheticrecords.com/bands/skeletonwitch).
