Rally.org, Vans Warped Tour, YELP Announce Fan Fundraising Contest


New York NY — May 14, 2013 — The Vans Warped Tour, online fundraising platform Rally.org and Yelp  today announced the launch of “Unite The United Foundation Summer 2013 Fundraising Campaign.” The fundraising contest enables Vans Warped Tour fans to raise money and awareness online to benefit three causes — MusiCares, TRUTH, and Keep A Breast Foundation — with chances to earn exclusive prizes throughout the process.


The 2013 Vans Warped Tour will bring the “Best Day Ever” to fans in 40 cities across the U.S. and Canada. This summer’s diverse concert lineup will feature Sleeping With Sirens, We Came As Romans, Motion City Soundtrack, The Wonder Years, Bring Me The Horizon, Reel Big Fish, Crown The Empire, The Story So Far, and others.


“The charity component of Warped is really important to us. It’s great to work with Rally.org to mobilize our incredible Vans Warped Tour fans and offer great prizes concert-goers who are helping us make a difference in communities around the U.S. and Canada,” said Kevin Lyman, founder of Vans Warped Tour  and Unite The United Foundation. “Plus, I’m psyched about the chance to BBQ with the top fundraising fan at one of our last tour dates in Texas.”


Yelp has signed on as the media sponsor and will promote the competition through its website, network, and corporate events.


The Rally.org leaderboard, which turns fans into charitable-campaign leaders, will be hosted on vanswarpedtour.com/rallyboard and will track top fan fundraisers in real time. On June 10, three levels of prizes will be awarded to the top 113 fundraisers, which range from round-trip flights to a show, backstage and VIP passes, to a BBQ with the Warped Tour’s founder and more.


To reward the efforts of the top fan fundraiser, Rally.org, Yelp, and Vans Warped Tour are excited to offer the GRAND PRIZE winner the ultimate Vans Warped Tour Best Day Ever fan experience.


The winner of the GRAND PRIZE will be flown, with a friend, to San Antonio, TX, and provided transportation to the venue and hotel accommodations. The two will attend the concert and receive VIP passes to watch their favorite band perform from the side stage. Winners will be invited to attend a meet-and-greet with their favorite band and have full access to the VIP BBQ Experience at the notorious after-show Backstage BBQ with Vans Warped Tour founder Kevin Lyman, the touring artists, and crew.


The top 10 fans who raise over $1,000 for Unite The United Foundation will receive the SILVER PRIZE package — two tickets and VIP Passes to the show, seats at the side stage where they can watch their favorite band, and a meet-and-greet with the band.


The top 100 fan fundraisers who raise $250 more on behalf of Unite The United will receive the BRONZE PRIZE, a Vans Warped Tour 2013 t-shirt.


Warped will be Rally’s third Leaderboard campaign. Rally has partnered with Jon Bon Jovi’s Soul Foundation on a Hurricane Sandy fan fundraiser and with Tim McGraw for a Leaderboard benefitting the Country Music Hall of Fame.
