6528

Some fascinating and significant films kick off the New Year 2015 and make their television premieres in January 2015 via Movies on Demand (MOD) on cable.

Ben Affleck stars in Gone Girl, one of the top films of the season. The dark psychological thriller from director David Fincher (The Social Network) is based on the worldwide bestseller by Gillian Flynn and just received four Golden Globe nominations.  Another huge action-packed thriller premiering on MOD this month is Lucy, from writer/director Luc Besson (The Fifth Element, Taken 2), with Morgan Freeman and Scarlett Johansson who plays a brain-altered woman outsmarting her captors. You can also see Brad Pitt in Fury, a story of heroism and camaraderie during World War II.

Also premiering this month is The Boxtrolls, an animated adventure from the makers of Coraline and ParaNorman, about a quirky underground family’s fight for survival (also available in 3D).  Finally, powerful performances of Robert Duvall and Robert Downey Jr. preside over the Golden Globe-nominee, The Judge.
