Lucas Oil Products, Inc, the world leader of High Performance Lubricants and Problem Solving Additives and MAVTV American Real – the Lucas owned television network that is the must-have network for automotive, racing and motorsports fans are proud to participate in the 100th Anniversary celebration of the City of Corona’s Grand Road Race on Saturday, September 14. Corona’s City Park will host a variety of fun activities that commemorates Corona’s racing history including a racing display featuring cars from the 1913 Road Race era to Lucas Oil’s modern racers.

“We are very pleased to be a part of the 100th Anniversary of the Corona Grand Race,” said Bob Patison President of MAVTV American Real and Executive Vice President of Lucas Oil Products, Inc. “The City of Corona is truly a wonderful place to work and live with a rich motorsports heritage. All of us at Lucas Oil and MAVTV and our families are looking forward to enjoying this historic event.”

The Corona Grand Race Celebration begins at 9AM Saturday at the official starting line of the 1913 race track located at Grand Boulevard and Washburn Streets. Vintage race cars from the 1913-1916 era that would have raced on the 2.75 miles long circle, will form a procession that honors the racers who 100 years ago sped into the record books at over 100mph before a race crowd estimated at 100,000 strong. On this Saturday, the vintage race cars will make their way slightly more slowly around the original Grand Boulevard before heading to City Park (930 E. Sixth Street) where the Celebration continues and the Lucas Oil/MAVTV booth and race cars  under the direction of Lucas Oil’s Director of Motorsports, Tom Bogner and racer Ron DeHoop, is located.

Under the guidance of its founder Forrest Lucas – Lucas Oil first opened an oil products production facility in the City of Corona in 1995 before moving to 302, North Sheridan Street in Corona in 2000. While the major production facility has moved to Corydon, IN, the Corona plant still services the Western United States, Mexico and S/E Asia and is the Lucas Oil worldwide Corporate Headquarters. The MAVTV television Studios opened on the same site in 2008, joining Lucas Oil Studios – a major supplier of motorsports programming to the networks.
